On 6th August 2013, a once-in-a-lifetime Hokkien Opera was staged at the Kallang Theatre. The performance, Xue Gang - The Fire of Youth featured four of Singapore's veteran Hokkien opera troupes, Xin Sai Hong Hokkien Opera Troupe, Xiao Kee Lin Opera Troupe, Sio Gek Leng Hokkien Opera Troupe and Aixin Lovely Opera House.
